Cooperisms

Cooper's favorite band, "Hootie and Goldfish."  And he can recognize them on the radio.

"Mommy, I rescue you.  I a police officer."

"Mommy, I older than you.  I older than Daddy."  Me, "Hold are you?"  "I two and a half."

After running non-stop throughout the house for at least five minutes, "Mommy, I not driving you crazy."  That's what you think buddy.

"Mommy, Cinderella lives in that castle."  Me, "I used to work in that castle."  Cooper, "With Cinderella?  No, mommy."  I need to take him in there to see his reaction.

Are you ready for a laugh?

"Mommy, have you seen my friend Batman?"

"Maybe I can find him with my superhero Spiderman eyes."
This kid gets funnier by the minute.

Terrible, terrible twos

Our sweet, loving child has been replaced with an obstinate, demanding, screaming, fit-throwing toddler.  Guess we are right on track for that developmental milestone.  Piaget could have kept that one for himself.

To paraphrase Nietzsche, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger."  J & I should have the strength of Hercules.

He refused to potty this weekend.  He threw fits that involved throwing, kicking, spitting, biting, screaming, shrieking, and stripping down to bare skin.  Yes, twice today, he ripped his clothes off and screamed bloody murder.  I'm tired just thinking about it.

In the meantime, he has successfully used the potty for two straight days at daycare.  Are you kidding me?

On that note, I am going to bed in the hopes of erasing today's fits and that tomorrow will be a better day.

Wonder Cooper to the rescue

Cooper is enthralled with helping.  I should put helping in quotes because we know how helpful an almost three year-old can be.

For part of his helping, he wants to wear my gardening gloves.  J came to the rescue and found Cooper a pair of Wonder Pets gloves.

I'm all ready to help.  What do you want me to do next?

Yes, he is a fashion statement.

 "I'm helping."

"I can climb this tree with these gloves on."

"Well maybe later."

Extreme grass makeover

Have you ever had one of those weeks?  Well, it's been a monthful of those weeks around here.  Crazy toddler, busy Mommy and Daddy with work and home.  Well, J had a nice surprise for me when I got home from work.  I felt like I had been ambushed with some crazy landscaping show (just done in long parts because the patio was done a month ago).

The dogs are already enjoying the new space.

Look at all the beautiful grass.  This yard has been a mix of dust, crabgrass, and clover since we moved in three years ago.  I will have to dig out the pictures from the first year to show you the transformation.

Look at the lovely mulched area with my transplanted rose and hydrangea bushes.  There are always things to do, but now we will feel we can enjoy a safe space for Cooper to play.  Thanks to the landscaping crew and a special thanks to J.  Love you.

Swim like a fish

We spent lots of time in the water over the holiday weekend.  He had a blast at the "beach" on the river.  The weather was gorgeous and Cooper made a few friends before we called it a day.  He also loves his water glasses.  Shhh!  Don't tell him they are googles.
