Why are your pants off?

Sorry that there aren't any pictures, but maybe you are better off not seeing.

After no nap on Saturday, we sent a very cranky kid to bed early that night.  Usually he will sleep until around 8 am on the weekend, but because he went to  be early, he was up really early.  I helped him go to the bathroom, put his PJs back on, and sent him back to bed until the sun came up.  He seemed to go along with it.

A couple of hours later, J got up so I could sleep in a little.  When he walked into the hallway, he saw Cooper with a bucket, no pants, and he was asking for more water in his bucket.  Oh, no!

J walked into the bathroom with him after seeing there was some water in his bucket.  And his little cleaning sponge was wet too.  J looks around for water somewhere, and he doesn't see anything.  Now Cooper is asking for more water so he can finish the stairs.  What?  The kid had cleaned the stairs with water and a sponge ... starting from the bottom.  Which explained why he was without pants.  They were wet from climbing up the stairs as he cleaned them.   He needed the water so he could finish the second half.

Yes, he is my child.  And I am praying that he will do a tenth of this cleaning when he grows up.

Breakfast for dinner

Cooper is going through this phase right now where he tells me, "I don't like dinner."  Well, terrific.  Since it was just the two of us tonight, and I had to find another option than what he requested.  A candy cane.  I threw out the idea of pancakes.  That actually got a "yeah Mommy" response from him.

He helped me mix the batter, and only got a little on the floor, counter, stove top, coffee maker.  The joys of cooking with a 3 year old, but we did have fun.

As you can tell from the last series, the silly phase has started.

Cooper's First Tar Heel Game

I can't believe I hadn't been to a game since college (please no one chime in on how long that has been), and now Cooper is 3 and we hadn't taken him yet.  So, off to Charlottesville we went to hopefully see the Heels beat up on the Hoos.

Still a little on the tired side, but ready to cheer them on.

Yes, our seats were in the nose-bleed section but we actually saw two other couples there that we know from Richmond.

He was very intent ... on finding the Cavalier mascot.  He must have asked a million times where the guy was.

Yes, Daddy let him have his first funnel cake.  He wasn't too impressed.

Neither were the Tar Heels, but they did eek out a win.

And we made it to the car just in time for a post-game crash.

I will add one more embarrassing story to the mix.  J took him to the bathroom after half-time and they ran into the UVA Dance Team.  I guess one of them waved at Cooper, and he took that as a sign that she was interested.  As they took off down the hall, Cooper started chasing them and telling his "Hotties, please wait."  I am mortified.  His father was very pleased.  And the concessionaire who witnessed it was almost falling over laughing.

Go HEELS!

Christmas Eve

We had a houseful of family and friends for Christmas this year.  Both sets of Cooper's grandparents and my sister and her husband came for a visit.

 Spreading reindeer food with Dad.

Making sure he had maximum coverage so the reindeer could find his house.

Grammy reading the Polar Express to other family members who couldn't be with us.

Cooper convinced everyone in the room to help him with a very difficult puzzle.  They were happy to pitch in and help the little guy.

I made everyone take a test play a game to see how many logos they could come up with.

Cooper putting out his first milk and cookies for Santa.  He chose a decorated Christmas tree from Uncle Dave and a peanut butter blossom.  Luckily Poppa told him to only give Santa a little milk because he couldn't drink too much at one house.

A big squeeze for Mom before he headed off to bed.  Right before he went, we heard jingle bells in the backyard.  This momentarily frightened him, but then he was already to be asleep.  After a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas from Dad, he was down for the count.
