Cooper and I had a great time exploring the backyard this past weekend. The weather was unusually warm, and we could just start to see the beginning of spring. I almost ran in earlier to get the camera, but we are having too much fun that I didn't want to break the spell.
We saw the new leaf buds on the lilac and hydrangeas, talked about how we need to cut back the crape myrtle, picked up sticks, and looked for birds. He stared really hard at the blueberry bush. I think he was wishing for berries to magically appear.
The sandbox and swing were our last stops, and I snapped a few pictures.

Flat, red sticks
"Mommy can you give me one of those flat red sticks.
I like those flat red sticks.
Those flat red sticks are so yummy.
Those sticks are so flat and so yummy.
They are candy," said Cooper.
So do you know what they are?
Yes, he will dance for Twizzlers.
And smile.
And dance and smile for Twizzlers.
What would you do for a Twizzler,
or
what makes you want to dance and smile?

Wordless Wednesday - Gaga Cooper
I hope he is not channeling Lady Gaga in there.

Fun Times with Dad
Hey Dad, what am I supposed to do here?
Oh, I get it now.
I don't know exactly what this is, but I like it.
Just a cool action shot.
King of the Hill
I wasn't doing anything. I promise.
Thanks Dad for taking me to a great birthday party. I thoroughly enjoyed all three plates of fruits and veggies so much that I didn't save room for cake.

Tax Time
I was so impressed with Cooper entertaining himself for several long stretches while I was working on our taxes.
He stacked a few toys on the guest bed and just played and talked for almost an hour.
Then he wanted to see himself on video. He watched video after video, and just laughed.
Then I got worried because he left the room, and it was completely QUIET. And this is what I found.
It's terrific to see him move between different activities on his own, and to be happy with independent play.

Spatula Time
Cooper's favorite part of Valentine's Day preparation was licking the spatula.
Because, "it's chockie Mommy!" The kid loves his "chockie." But then, so do I.

Cherry Snack Cake
Some one said lots of yums while eating cherry snack cake. Lucky for me the recipe is super easy, and only four ingredients. It got rave reviews all the way around here.
