Random End of the Month

Cool in my new Baby Banz.

Love to read.

So very tired.

New pastime, stacking blocks and knocking them over.

Not Me Monday in Honor of Stellan

As we are all aware, Not Me! Monday was started by MckMama. "I created Not Me! Monday for the purpose of confessing our shortcomings and imperfections to each other since, after all, we are all only human!" (MckMama's words) Every Monday, you can find more "Not Me! Monday" at her site. However, this week, in honor of her and Baby Stellan, we're doing "Not Me! Monday - Stellan Style!"

Prayers for Stellan

I did not look at Twitter too many times today looking for status updates of the little guy.

I did not pray extra times for a little guy that I don't even know, but has captured my heart by reading his sweet mom's posts that show how much she loves him so.

I did not hug and squeeze Cooper more than usual so grateful for his good health. How easy it is to take for granted those things when you get caught up in life's little moments and annoyances that mean so little.

I did not breathe a big sigh of relief when I "heard" Jennifer's relief through a tweet.

We are praying for all of you.

I really wanted a strawberry.

I took Cooper to Sam's for a little shopping before friends came in town. I put a container of strawberries in the cart. The next thing I know, the package is in the front with Cooper. Now, pay close attention. Notice the very small holes in the top of the package. I did not have a camera with me, but imagine Cooper with a red finger and a smile on his face. He somehow managed to fit his finger in the hole, and poke a berry enough to get a taste.

Look carefully at the strawberry in the center above. See the perfect size Cooper finger hole.

Very happy to get the entire berry with dinner. Oh boy, what am I going to do?

First Haircut

Here is the before shot. Admire those curls.
"I've got a lollipop, so do what you will to me."
Baby is gone, little man is here.

Clean cut, and ready to show off.

It's official. I highly recommend the William Byrd Hotel Barber Shop. Definitely old school. Really made the moment special.

Whose clothes are you wearing?

Okay, thankfully no pictures to post with this one. But sometimes you just have to tell the story.

I walk into daycare Thursday evening. Cooper is standing there in clothes I have never seen before. The shirt is a little too snug ... belly showing. The pants are okay. So, I ask the evening teacher, "What happened?"

Her reply was that he had a little accident. Okay, so why isn't he in his backup clothes. She wasn't sure. After a little looking around, I found the bag with his clothes that he wore to daycare ... slightly stinky. I will let you figure that one out.

So, I asked if there was anything I should know. This is where I am thanking God for the wonderful people that take care of children everywhere.

If you are easily offended or grossed out, this is where you need to stop reading. If you continue to read, you have been warned, but it is awfully funny.

She found Cooper in the corner, pulling poop out of his diaper, and putting handfuls of it on the shelf. Yes, you read correctly. How much trouble am I in if this kid is going to do this?

She did say that he started crying immediately when she saw him. So he knew he was in trouble. He ate dinner in just a diaper because they couldn't find any extra clothes for him. Thank goodness that another parent walked in, and offered her son's extra clothes. I did send him to school on Friday in a one piece outfit ... less access, with two backups. He didn't make it through the day in the same clothes. I have asked that they start using bigger diapers. The problem isn't how big around, it is how tall he is. He ends up with plumber's crack (no offense to the plumbers of the world).

Does this mean he is ready for potty training?

Family Fun Day

We started out the afternoon with a little furniture shopping. We are looking for an entertainment center and a dining room table. La Diff was this week's destination, and we saw an entertainment center that we actually liked. Cooper had a great time playing in the kid's furniture section. I thought he would be more impressed with the castle thing behind him, but not really.

He did like sitting in a $500 bean bag chair. I did say $500. ???

We completed the afternoon with a visit to Maymont Nature Center. Cooper got to see the river settings with lots of fish and turtles. We also spent some time watching Richmond's most romantic couple, two otters.

Cooper's Week with Nana

Nana came to help Mom this week. Dad was at school getting smarter by the minute, and I conveniently caught a cold. Nana to the rescue.

Cooper is making Nana read him a cookbook. Sometimes, you just don't ask.

Sitting up at the big boy table, and getting whatever I wanted. Don't I look like I am up to no good.

Waiting for the main course at Starlite. Nana's favorite Richmond restaurant.

Thank you Nana for taking care of me - lots of good food and too many books read to count!!

The Cleaning Fool

Cooper loves his new brooms from Grammy. They are just his size (they are Dirt Devil), so hopefully he will not knock so much stuff over. He loves anything to do with cleaning. Where did that come from? Did you notice he has to have two in his hands?

Warm inside on a snow day

I had a ball playing in my wagon with all my friends, monkeys and bears. Mom even took me for a few laps around the house. She tried to catch me in a video playing peek-a-boo but I was too quick for her.

What am I supposed to do with this stuff?

What is this stuff?

Why am I out here?

Does anyone know I have Ziploc baggies on my feet? I am so embarrassed.

Dad to the rescue. I lasted about 10 minutes in the snow. Next year - sledding here I come.

Please let me go play in the snow.

Cooper's First Snow

Cooper enjoyed his first view of the snowflakes. K may not be too happy with the pictures I just posted, but I will keep her anonymous with just "K'. They look too happy to not post these. I was being a good sick patient, and didn't play any in the snow.
