Memorial Day Fun

Running and jumping into the pool.

Baseball practice with Poppa.  And he made his first couple of hits.

Jet ski riding.

Water fun with Mommy, including jumping off the bow of the boat for the first time.

Boat riding with Grammy and Poppa.

Whew.  I am exhausted.  Unfortunately, J didn't get to come with us because he was home battling a horrible bug.  We had a great Memorial Day weekend celebrating with family and friends.

Ready with a moment's notice

Cooper didn't want to risk missing the next boat outing. He said he would eat standing up.

Field Trip - Stickworks

Cooper's class took a field trip to the botanical garden to view the latest exhibit.  It is a "Stickwork" sculpture by Patrick Dougherty.

It was much larger than I thought it would be.  The kids could run from room to room.  Lots of giggles along the way.

Trying his hand at building his own sculpture in the Stick Studio.

Calling for his friends so they could join in on the building.

How's that for excitement?

"Did you see all the neat sticks over here?  I am going to build something big."

I wish it wasn't already so hot in May.  They ended their adventure with a picnic in the shade.

Wordless Wednesday - Stranger by the minute

He talked to himself for the longest time before falling asleep.  Didn't think I would find him wrapped up in a monkey blanket.

More berry eating

So after an afternoon of strawberry picking, someone hadn't found enough berries to eat.  As we start cooking dinner, this is what I find in the kitchen.

How many blueberries can I shove in my mouth at one time?  The better question is, how many can you?  Cooper will give you a run for your money.

Strawberry Picking

Nope, not me.  I haven't eaten any strawberries.

If I take off the stem, I have to eat it.

This is a good one.  Right?

I'm a man on a mission.

Mommy thinks they might want to weigh me before I leave.  I can't understand why.

Why would you want to roll around in corn?  Oh, because it's fun.

Especially if I can convince Mommy to join me.

Farmer Cooper

That's silly, Mommy.

His favorite animal of the day.

Can we go on this ride next?

We had a great outing to the berry farm.  I would hate to guess how many he ate while we were there.  Now we get to enjoy homemade strawberry jam.  Hope Cooper leaves some for the rest of us.

Wordless Wednesday - I'm so excited

For a banana split milkshake.  And I was trying to work with backlighting and flash for my subject.

What are you doing?

We finally got Cooper on a better bedtime routine ... or so we thought.

We have been putting him to bed about 30 minutes earlier so we don't have to drag Mr. Grumpy out of bed in the morning. And it's been working.

Tonight he kept saying he wasn't tired, wanted another book, wanted us to cuddle, etc. He finally settled down ... or so we thought.

I came upstairs and heard the patter of little feet in our bedroom. He was on our bed with the TV on. He turned on the TV by himself and found cartoons. So much for us being a step ahead.

Wish us luck in the morning because I have a feeling we will be meeting Mr. Grumpy.

I think Ben loves me ... And other thoughts

"Mommy, I think Ben loves me."

"Why do you think that?"

"I just do. Ben needs a bubble bath. I have to get back to work because I can't sit here this long."

I feel sorry for Ben. Don't you too?

Sleeping Hard

I'm glad to see he can make himself comfortable, and that he kept his socks on his hands. The poor guy got my dry skin so why try to douse him in Aquaphor a couple nights a week.
