A boy and a puppy
You have to love a boy and a puppy. While visiting my parents, they were dog-sitting for the neighbors across the street. This is their new addition, Mac. I love that Cooper was trying to get Mac to chase him. And yes, his shirt says "nothing but trouble."
"I wasn't doing anything, I promise."
"You can't catch me, I'm the ginger bread man."
I love his face and waving arms at the end. Can't you feel the excitement?
I love being silly with my family
As you can see ... Cooper loves entertaining us all. It's amazing the things you do when you are around a child. I actually caught myself dancing in a restaurant booth just so Cooper would do it more.

Four Generations and a Donkey
Well, we tried for the perfect family photo when visiting my little sis's "farm". We determined there was no way to get a perfect picture with a toddler and a donkey ... so this is what we got. She currently has four miniature donkeys (two are babies), four goats, and a bulldog. The little guy pictured below is Tardy, her latest addition. He was named that because it took him forever to get here.
They don't say stubborn as a mule for no reason. I won't say which one was stubborn. Actually they were both pretty well-behaved, but we did not get the perfect photo no matter how hard we tried.
Cooper loved feeding cheerios to the donkeys, but didn't want them to eat off his hands. He ended up throwing them instead.
Hope you enjoyed the videos. We had a great time visiting with the family. More pics of the rest of the weekend to follow.
On a parting note ... Cooper was ready to help out. I don't think he quite had the right tools.

One Weekend at a Time
Well, the weekend started out interesting. I had gone out to run an errand while J kept an eye on Cooper. They were playing on the bed and J was tickling Cooper. The next thing he knew, a pea flew out of Cooper's nose. Glad to know we had the menu from school so we could confirm that the pea was from the same day's lunch.
Cooper is doing so many fun things now. I think he said his first phrase last night. We were playing patty cake, and he broke out with this all by himself ... "Roll 'em over!" with the correct hand motions.
I didn't have my camera for this one because he was in the tub. He figured out how to get on his belly and kick his feet. Boy, that kid can splash.
Yes, he is my child. He is cleaning his feet with a baby wipe.
Just kicking back on a Sunday afternoon.
Such a big guy. He loves sitting at his table ... which he picks and moves to the preferred spot of the day.

Families after 5
Aunt K and I took Cooper to Lewis Ginter this evening for Families After 5. They keep the children's garden with the water play open for extended hours. It was our first time there, and Cooper was impressed.

The kid loves the vacuum
As much as I hate to admit it, Cooper does take a few things after me.
He is slightly obessessed with my Dyson.

So when I hide the vacuum from him, he resorts to the next best thing. Hope I can get him to do a little of this in the next five years.

Cooper's "Sick" Day
He was an angel all day. Lots of hugs and cuddles, and he also let me get some work in while he built playdoh animals and played with this cars.
We did take a little break on the big guy's sick day.

Does this kid look sick to you?
I got a call around lunch time that Cooper was not feeling well, and that I needed to come get him. I woke him from his nap to take him home. He napped for just a little longer at home, and wild man was back in action. He brushed the dogs, played with legos, read books, and watched the Teletubbies, which he loved. Since he seemed fine, we went out for a cheese quesadilla (one of his favorites), and he proceeded to beg for his normal lime slice and black beans and a side of sour cream. He was a bottomless pit.
We had a great evening with him saying lots of Dada and Daddy. He was so snuggly and wanted lots of hugs at bedtime. Again, is this the face of a sick kid? Maybe he just needed Mommy time. Well, that's my story.

Boat fun on the 4th
Worn completely out. He didn't make it to see or hear any fireworks. Maybe next year.
He did want to share my drink. Too bad for him that the glass was empty.
