There's a Spidey in my Garden
He loves to wear the Spiderman costume around the house. This weekend he came around the corner all crouched down in his best Spidey voice, and asked me, "Have you seen my friend, Flash?" He is so serious, so I try hard not to laugh but rather play along. We went on a hunt for Flash, and found him hanging out in the family room. When I asked Spidey if he had seen Cooper, he grinned at me and pulled up his mask. "I'm right here Mommy." I love the imagination.
Cooper also told me this week that he is now 5, so he can go to Summer Camp. All the older kids who will be going to kindergarten in the fall have moved up to Summer Camp and he is feeling a little left out. I asked him what happened to 4. His solemn response was "I'm too big for 4."
Yes you are buddy, yes you are.

Photo Essay by Dad
Watching the action.
What's going on Dad?
Foul BALL!
The people behind me are more fun than watching the game.
Hyped up on Powerade.
One cool dude.

Happy Father's Day 2011
It was a pretty low key day around the house today. J finally was able to hit the golf course yesterday morning with some friends, so we let him sleep in this morning. Cooper and I were video chatting with my Dad when he woke up, so we missed cooking him breakfast. Oops! We will try again next year.
I was determined to carry out a tradition that I missed last year. So Cooper and I did a little photo shoot. Here are the photos from two years ago. And from this year.
He was such a ham that I printed up several versions so J could post the ones he liked the best in his frame at work. And he was wearing his Georgetown shirt just for Dad.
This was what Cooper made for J at school. One of the pics from Disney went great in the frame, especially since the two of them had so much fun swimming together.
Happy Father's Day to our wonderful Dads. Sorry the cards will be late. Please know that we thought of you and love you both very much.

Maybe we need a New Cooper
Yesterday morning was one of those mornings. Cooper was up way too late the previous night. We are struggling with getting him to go to sleep. He stays up in his room for hours after we put him to bed.
Anyway, he didn't want to wake up, get dressed, let the dogs out, eat breakfast. Do you see the trend? God bless J for being the one that handles mornings. When I came downstairs, Cooper was sitting on the coach reading a book. He said "Daddy is mad. And I'm mad too." Oh boy!
He did eat something for breakfast, but wanted a cereal bar for the car. I told him he didn't deserve one after the way he behaved this morning. He could have some animal crackers instead. And off we go.
In the car, he told me that once I dropped him off and parked my car that he was going to walk to my car and drive it home so he could get a cereal bar. I reminded him that he didn't deserve it. He thought about this for a few minutes. Then he told me, "Maybe we need a new Cooper."
Now I am trying really hard not to laugh while amazed at his thought process. I asked him if this new Cooper would listen and follow directions better. His response, "Yeah." Then I asked, "But what would we do the old Cooper." His response, "Well he is my brother, so I will tell him what to do."
So far, we are still talking to the new Cooper. Hope he hangs around permanently.

Lego Land
Cooper has recently become enthralled with Legos. They are his Dad's from when he was a little guy. I love seeing the two of them playing and building together. Sorry the video is so long, but he was so animated telling me about his village.

Stickem' Up
We found a visitor on our patio. He was none too welcome by the dogs. They seemed to have tried to have him as a snack, so I hope we saved him in time.
Cooper wasn't too sure if he was friendly or not so he came prepared.
Oh, he's so cute Mommy! (Then I saw the blood on his rear leg. No wonder he was moving so slow.)
Then the next thing we knew, he was off. Cooper did help protect him until we could get the dogs inside. Cooper carefully escorted him to the garden.

First Nutzy Watch of the Season
He was convinced he was going to catch a foul ball. When he wasn't looking, J snuck a team baseball into his glove. Cooper was in awe that Daddy had helped him catch a ball that he didn't even see. His night was definitely made (and he slept with the ball). He didn't get any up close and personal Nutzy sitings. Maybe next time.
